Making simple cards out of a few materials and using technology goes a long way. I must admit that I do not have beautiful handwriting but I often use word document with some web fonts to assist me in my crafting. Not an illustrator by training, I do not know how to use illustrator or photoshop. I stick to old school simple drawing, cutting and pasting. Hopefully these simple methods will inspire you to start making your very own unique cards. Here, I made 2 cards for Jelly Bean Attic 29 Day card challenge. To keep the card simple, I focused on the theme “Monster” and “Valentines’ Day”. I also wanted to play on the word “I” by having a visual “eye”.
So with these things in mind, I used my laptop to create some words in a bubble and then used paint on a pom pom to create the monster. Using markers to draw up the monster’s features and adding a google eye. I am including a printable of the message here for your use. I also used washi tape for one of the cards. Let your creative juices flow and be surprised by your creations!
Here are some pictures of the cards that I made and I really enjoyed the process as well as the outcome.
Happy Card Making and I hope these little cards brighten up your day like it did with my friends.
